| Is it really acceptable to kill animals only for
their fur? |
In
modern societies, the killing of animals for fur is arguably uncivilized
behavior. In times past, fur was absolutely necessary for our very
survival, and in some societies, that necessity remains. However,
in developed economies, there are other alternatives.
The fashion industry has exploited the animal kingdom, and indiscriminate
hunting has threatened the existence of many species. The industry
may argue that animals are no longer hunted but farmed domestically
instead (which has not been reflected in lower prices for fur fashion).
However, the hunting of rare and exotic species will continue as
long as demand exists.
The natural environment is based on a complex ecosystem, in which
plants, animals and microorganisms interdependently exist. As a synthetic
fiber, the use of Kanecaron indirectly contributes to preserving
the diversity of life, and it also represents a responsible application
of modern science. |

We support HSUS.
Kanecaron supports the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS),
whose nearly seven million members fight for the protection of animals
through wide-ranging activities including actions against the use of
fur. The organization has dedicated itself to creating a world where
animals can live with the compassion they deserve. |
