OSAKA JUNE 1, 2003 KANEKA has teamed up with Glenoit
Fabrics (HG) Corporation to introduce the unique qualities of Luxaire to
a select group of customers who can now take advantage of the fabric’s
softness, shape and durability.
Until now, it has been particularly difficult to replicate the softness
and shape of animal hair with the toughness of a synthetic fiber, but
the complementary working relationship that KANEKA shares with Glenoit
has helped to change all that.
Other manufacturers have tried to create softer fake fur through the
use of a greater number of and smaller denier microfibers with little
success. The end result is a fabric that lacks the ability to “bounce
back” like real fur does.
Luxaire is now made with two types of technical acrylic fibers,
whose ratio is precisely balanced before the knitting process. By using
Glenoit’s computerized sliver knitting equipment, the resilience
and softness qualities of Luxaire have been further enhanced.
The fabric is then sent through a proprietary heating and finishing
process.
The joint success of KANEKA and Glenoit in perfecting Luxaire will
open a whole new realm of product application possibilities. |
